Beauty Standard

We live in a world where beauty is showcased as the physical appearance alone and displayed in the image of physical elements such as long braids, fixed nails, make up, clothes that exposes parts of the body, tattoo, jewelries and so on.

Yes, every woman wants to look good and attractive. Always wanting to look perfect and receive compliments from people especially the opposite gender and so that has made many women result to applying make up, some have decided to have plastic surgery to get that look or body shape they have idolised in their mind.

The standard of beauty has been brutally disregarded, put out of place and substituted with a shallow one that does not even count. Now, young girls think their beauty is measured by the amount of lip gloss and nail polish they apply. Some model have become idols in their mind. They say, “I want to look like her when I grow up” , “I can’t wait to get that set of make up kit and get eyes drooling over me”.

It is now an obsession! Some cannot even make a video call without make up on! They have become insecure about their look. They focus on the outer beauty that fades and neglect the inner beauty that counts.

Proverbs 31:30 “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”

The fear of the Lord that builds up the soul and brings about transformation from inside out that then influences the being of an individual has been neglected.

Beauty that passes is what is now being focused on.

1 Peter 3:3-4 “Your beauty should not come from outward adornments, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewellery and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

The devil is ever rebelling against God, he is ever causing perversion in all of God’s truth and words. He set up a false beauty standard and got women all concerned about that, forgetting that what truly matters to God and of great worth to Him is the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.

The beauty standard is that of a gentle and quiet spirit which is unfading.

The beauty standard is a measure of your inner being, your inner self.

The beauty standard and true beauty comes from the inside. Unlike the world, which tells us that we are attractive or lovely because of our appearance, the Bible tells us that beauty is based on character.

Will you put much work building up your spirit into a gentle and quiet spirit which is of unfading beauty instead of focusing too much on the beauty that passes? Dear woman, with love I say to you, build up your spirit. Yes, be modest in your looks too but most importantly, the being that is on your inside is what you are. Your face is just a mask. Clean the junks in your spirit and make it look beautiful. Naturally, beauty will flow from your inside out and that is true beauty and the standard of beauty.

Let the one who is able to transform you from inside out into your life today. He is ever loving and wants to help you build that gentle and quiet spirit whose beauty is unfading for you cannot do it yourself.

He is Jesus. Call Him into your heart today and start the journey of building your spirit into a gentle and quiet spirit whose beauty is unfading.

You are amazing, true beauty is who you are on the inside and your worth is far above rubies.
